San Gervasio Archeological Site

How We GotThere

We took the ferry from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel and stayed at the Playa Azul Hotel.

About the Site

The site is just a few kilometers outside of Cozumel.  It is the only excavated archaeological site on the island, and was built to honor Ixchel, the goddess of fertility.  It is a relatively simple site, but will give you the flavor of Maya archaeological sites in general.
