Edzná Archeological SiteEdzná Archeological SiteThis site is about 40 miles from Campeche, (down Highway 188 to Highway 188), so we stopped by it on our way to Palenque.
This is a very beautiful site with architecture of the Chenes style, like Uxmal. It was along the main trading route from the highlands to the coast. It has some good quality stelae and hieroglyphics.

Templo de los Cinco Pisos (Temple of the Five Storeys). The style of this pyramid is rare, with rooms on each of the storeys, a combination not seen very often. You can climb the steps to the top (about 60 feet). |
