Änglagård Abbey Ale

Brewed: January 17, 1995

First attempt to brew something other than a stout, but it was nonetheless to dark for my housemates to attempt drinking. Good! More for me!! I used 1/2 cup corn sugar for the five-gallon batch, which miraculously resulted in just the right amount of carbonation (yeast was Wyeast 1214 Belgian Abbey). This one's weakness was that it was really too bitter until months, months later when the few remaining bottles had mellowed out: Hops were 2 oz Northern Brewer (7.5%) for the boil and 1.5 oz Eroica (12%) for finishing! Well, here's to the hopheads! By the way, if you want to know what Änglagård means, check this link...
