Crab
& Sweet Onion Au Gratin
Ingredients -- not vegetarian
You could also try this Au Gratin recipe with
shrimp or perhaps Tilapia or other whitefish meat.
- 1/4 lb. Swiss cheese, grated
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1 Tbsp grated lemon zest
- 1/2 cup keto flour, such as Quinoa flour, oat
flour, or almond flour
- 2 Tbsp salted butter
- 3 large sweet onions, thinly sliced
- 1 lb. Dungeness crab meat, or substitute
- 3/4 cup mayonnaise
- juice of 1 small lemon
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 Tbsp granulated keto sweetener, such as
Coconut sugar, Allulose, etc.
- Tabasco sauce, white pepper, salt to taste
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a bowl, combine and toss cheese, nutmeg, lemon zest, and
flour.
In a large sautée pan, over medium heat, combine crab, cheese
mixture, onions, mayo, lemon juice, parsley, sugar, and
spices. Mix very gently. Transfer to a large
baking dish.
Bake in center of oven for 35-45 minutes, or until it bubbles
slightly and is slightly browned.
